Editing in the Wild – a Laptop that keeps up with adventure + 3 Lightroom Presets
Disclaimer: Huawei Canada provided the Matebook X Pro for honest review
British Columbia is beautiful and perfect for exploring and heading out for adventures. Whether it’s an afternoon road trip up to Squamish or Whistler, or a week-long hike or camping retreat, you need tech that can keep up.
The Editing Machine – Huawei MateBook X Pro

I’ve been using the Huawei Matebook X Pro because it has:
- 3 k super-sharp screen
- 13 hr battery
- 1 TB hard drive
- 1.33 kg
- Slim design – 304 x 14.6 x 217mm (W x D x H)
Bring a Power Block
The 13 hr battery is incredible, however, I always bring a couple of power blocks (portable batteries) with me for keeping my phone and camera charged and ready to go.
I’d recommend Anker products, specifically the Portable Charger Power Bank 26800mAh. You’ll be able to get at least 3 full charges for your phone and can even top up your Matebook’s battery after you’ve worked long into the night on your photo and video edits.

Top-up your top-up
During the daylight hours, use the power of the sun to charge your backup battery. I’ve left the BigBlue 5V 28W Solar Charger draped over my tent to charge batteries and it works really nicely.
