Thermacell Mosquito Repellent Tech Giveaway
Yay for Summer! Boo to mosquitoes. They’re the worst and they always come out when you’re enjoying the season.
Did you know that mosquitoes are attracted to:
- A steady-flow of CO2. If you’re exercising or doing some kind of activity, they’ll be all over you.
- Dark colours that make you stand out against the horizon
- If you’ve had a beer (though nobody knows why)
- If you’re hot – heat often means the blood is close to the surface
- Me. Always me.

Either way, let’s get on with why you’re here – to win some awesome mosquito repellent tech from Thermacell. I’m giving away:
- 2 x Thermacell Patio Shield
- 1 x Thermacell Radius
- Product refills
- Bar Glass Set
- Water Bottle (could be in red or white)
- Jenga
- Beach Towel

July 24, 2020 at 1:24 pmI’ve read that they’re also attracted to you if you’ve recently eaten a banana. Something to do with the potassium? So, keep cool and stay away from the banana beer. Haha.

July 24, 2020 at 3:15 pmThey say I’m a banana. Maybe this is why I get eaten alive?

July 25, 2020 at 5:07 amI was looking at these three other day. I’m intrigued because I always get eaten by mosquitos and my youngest does too. My husband was wondering about the warning to not breathe in or near the device? It left him wondering how it works and what exactly is in it to keep away mosquitos?

July 25, 2020 at 5:32 amGreat question: The devices are powered by a small fuel cartridge that provides the cordless, portable heat that is directed to a metal grill. A small mat saturated with repellent is inserted on top of the metal grill. Heat disperses the repellent from the mat into the air, creating the zone of protection.
This repellent, allethrin, is a synthetic copy of a natural repellent found in chrysanthemum plants.
