Using the Peloton App for Outdoor Running – 30 Day FREE Trial

Unsponsored review

Real talk, I find running incredibly boring. It doesn’t matter how picturesque the scenery, and there’s a lot here in North Vancouver, I just get bored and lose motivation after about 20 minutes and want to go home.

I’ve always fancied the idea of a Running Club, but don’t want to be locked into a commitment.

Solution? – The Peloton phone app, which runs on both iOS (iPhones) and Android (everything else). While I don’t have one of their beautiful spin bikes in my home, or any other exercise bike, I thought that I wouldn’t get much from their 30 day free trial. However, after seeing their ad on TV, I saw that there’s an audio section for guided outdoor running.

I’ve been using the app on a free trial, which is for 3 months / 90 days and have been really enjoying it. Whereas I’d get bored after 3km, I just jogged for 10km, which is the most I’ve done in a long time.

Sweaty but feeling great!

The app has:

  • Analytics – how far you ran, time spent, heart rate (if you have a compatible smart watch), calories burned
  • Great selection of music mixes to go along with the guided classes (90s, Hip Hop, Dance, Upbeat)
  • Friendly guides who keep you entertained and also motivated

For those who prefer to workout at home, there’s also a Smart TV app (or you could ‘cast’ it from your phone to your Google Chromecast.

Since this is a 30-day FREE trial, I say give it a go. After the month is up, it’s $12.99 per month, which is pretty great for the amount of content you get and the value you’ll get out of it.

I absolutely HATE running outside. Give me a treadmill, a good Netflix show and I can run for hours. Love that you found something that works for you!
