Meet This Summer’s Stadium Must-Eats
For any big sporting event, food and drink is part of the experience. Usually, the only criteria for stadium food are that it’s fast, over-priced, and can be eaten without too much attention away from what’s happening in front of the crowd.

Last season I went to all but two of the BC Lions games and loved every second of it. However I never really paid much mind to the new food stands that had appeared, in favour of sticking to my staples of a burger or chicken strips and loads of ketchup.
Just in time for the new BC Lions season opener, Master Chef William Tse is here to show off the stadium’s new healthy, vegan, or burger-alternative options in an aim to bring a more rounded eating experience than before.

The Master Chef has been at BC Place since 2014 and has shared his culinary creations at notable BC restaurants including Goldfish Pacific Kitchen, Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House (my fave!), Sandbar Seafood Restaurant.
Before the first game of the regular BC Lions CFL season, Chef William walked us around the food concourse and introduced a few hungry bloggers, content creators, and people-who-take-photos-of-their-food-before-eating, to some of his newest dishes.

First up is the Korean Chicken Rice Bowl from Boom Kitchen, with oodles of flavour and juicy chicken.

I was particularly looking forward to the Carved Prime Rib Sandwich from Beast on Fire and I wasn’t disappointed. It was tender and freshly made.

Beyond Meat is a massive trend right now and the Beast Unleashed have their own burger. To me, it’ll never be quiet as good as beef, but it’s a pretty great substitute.

Then we were brought up to a particularly fancy suite to showcase the other food that’s also available on the main food concourse.

Then, if that all wasn’t enough, which it was so much more than enough, (in fact, I should have stopped several delicious courses ago), there are made-to-order floats. I’ve never had one before but it sure is an experience. Yum!

Also, my good friend and fellow Dad-Blogger, Michael Kwan joined me and filmed the whole thing for you. Here you go!
So, what are you going to try at your next game? I think I’m going to go back for another one of those Outrageous Burgers. Just don’t watch me as I eat it. It’s gonna get messy!
Disclaimer: I was invited to the kind people at BC Place to try out all the food. The words and photos are my own.
