It’s either my year-long use of christmas themed socks or constant talk of exterior holiday lighting that has earned me a reputation for being fond of the best flipping time of year.
So I was beside myself when I got the nod to see what the elves at Chapters-Indigo were planning to woo our cash away from us this season.
The central themes were around the Great Bright North, the Nutcracker, and pink glitter.
There are lots of super-cozy reading socks, pillows, toques (beanie-hats) and tools aimed at the guys providing an answer to the age-old question “What shall we get dad?”.
For the ladies (or anyone who loves a little sparkle), think glamour and glitter. Lots of purses, scarves, jewellery and head-adornments.
The selection of gifts for the kids was the most interesting, including 3 top secret ones under the themes of collectables, coding, and Pokémon.
I asked what they think the ‘Must-have Christmas gift of 2017‘ will be and they’re hedging their bets on the Lego Boost codable robot for 9-13 year olds, as well as new sets from TV favourites PJ Mask and Paw Patrol.
Last year’s family favourite of Pie Face will be replaced this holiday season with Soggy Doggy, a buckaroo-style timed game with a model dog than will shake it’s water-logged fur all over the losing player.
As usual with the book store, novels and non-fiction are a massive focus with something for every reading persuasion.
