How is it almost September? The March-August blur shouldn’t count and we should just start summer vacation over again. Having said that, I’m sure all us parents are pretty excited to get the kids masked-up and out of the house for at least a few hours.
Back to School season is upon us and it’s time for some super fun shopping!
I’m breaking this Back to School Shopping List into 4 sections:
- Stationary
- Setting up a study area/student workspace
- College-ready Tech
- School-friendly Snacks

Huawei’s lineup of Matebook laptops is seriously impressive. They’re lightweight (great for backpacks), intuitive, powerful, and beautiful. Here are the full specs.
I’m relatively new to their family of products, apart from the phones which I’ve had for years.
Every day I wear the GT 2 smartwatch, which tracks my exercise, steps, heart rate, notifies me of emails or texts when my phone is in my bag or another room and looks awesome. The battery lasts for 2 weeks (yes, really!) which is why I got rid of my FitBit (daily charge!) and upgraded.
The GT2 also has stress monitoring (very useful for school-life!), Bluetooth calling (answer and talk into the watch!), and in-device music. Very cool!

The Huawei Matebook X Pro 2020 has:
- Size: 13.9 inches
- Type: LTPS
- Screen-to-body ratio: 91%
- Resolution: 3000 x 2000, 260 PPI
- Colour: 100% sRGB colour gamut (Typical)
- Contrast ratio: 1500:1
- Maximum brightness: 450 nits (Typical)
- Light sensor
- Viewing angle: 178 degrees
- Aspect ratio: 3:2
- 10-point multi-touch sensitive screen with finger gesture screenshot

A monstrous 56 Wh battery packed into the slim body provides up to 13 hours of video playback on a single charge. Enjoy movies on your long flight without plugging in.
- 11 hrs of online browsing
- 13 hrs of video playback
- 15 hrs of regular work
Here’s my unboxing videoto share a few more details.
Collaborating between products is something that Huawei does really well. Check out what their P40 phone series + MateBooks can do:

I’ve been talking at length about my love for the P40 Pro. To save time, here’s a link to my previous post.

All the following snacks are nut-free and safe to bring into school.

MadeGood Granola Bars: You would never believe that this indulgent little bar has all the benefits and nutrients of 6 hidden veggies! MadeGood’s new Cookies & Crẻme flavour is packed with sweetness and reminiscent of those chocolate sandwich cookies we all love — all in a chewy, low-sugar snack.

Soft Baked Mini Cookies: With all the deliciousness of tender homemade cookies, MadeGood’s soft baked mini cookies are packed with a serving of vegetables, high in vitamin A, C, D E, and B6 and only 110 calories per pouch. Enjoy brand new flavours including Red Velvet and No Nut Butter just in time for fall.

This time last year, I wrote about 5 easy after-school pasta recipes so I thought Id thrown in a couple of my go-to dishes since everyone who comes home from school is usually pretty hangry!
