As a relatively new Vancouver-ite, going to a CFL game has always been on my must-do list.

Growing up in the English countryside, the NFL and Canadian Football League had always seemed so glamorous and thrilling.

When I went to a preseason game to see the BC Lions play, I was not disappointed. In fact, it was incredible.

I had no idea about the sheer passion that the supporters have for their team. They dress up, wear full face paint and cheer their players at the top of their lungs.

I saw, close up, the motivation and drive to win on the faces of the players as they ran through the tunnel and out in front of their supporters. I didn’t know just how swept-up in the enthusiasm I’d get.

The season is already underway and the BC Lions Fans are louder than ever! I love supporting my local team and I always have an amazing time at the games.
