Avoiding Flu Season
Back to school seasons mean that cold and flu viruses spread quickly. Yuck.
During summer vacations, kids might get a virus, feel the symptoms and take a day or two to get over it.
Now the same kids can bring it to school and spread it around to his or her classmates. They bring it home to the parents, who then take it to work.
I don’t have time to take a sick day, and I’m sure my daughter would rather have her Daddy in tip-top condition for rolling around, piggy back rides and trips to the park.
Proper nutrition and exercise is key for helping your body stay in shape and for making sure you can fight off winter colds.
In addition to a low-sugar, low-fat, vitamin-rich diet full of fresh fruits, grains and vegetables, you can add to your diet with herbal supplements like HealTop Health’s Winter Relief. I’m not a doctor, so it’s always worth saying that before you take any supplements or make a change in your diet, ask your doctor or medical professional.
The people at Healtop have been kind enough to share a few samples of their range to help me battle the upcoming flu season.
What’s in it?
It is a plant-derived mixture of licorice-smelling liquid and comes with an eye-dropper for adding to a drink. It’s ingredients are: Alcohol, Sambucus (Sambucus Nigra), Marjoram (Origanum Majorana), Bochin (Verbascum Thapsus), Licorice (Glycyrrhiza Glabra); Essential Oils: Ginger, Star Anise (Illicium Verum), Black Pepper (Piper Nigrum).
As a new parent, I worry about making sure my daughter gets the right nutrition and all her supplements to ensure she has a healthy immune system. I really have to make a conscious effort to do the same for myself.
Disclaimer: Thanks again to Healtop for supporting this article and for sending the Winter Relief as another weapon to defend against those stinker cold bugs. Wish me luck!
