Read The North This Canada Day

Oh, Canada. You really are a beautiful place of talented entrepreneurs, anecdotes of your founders and the trading travelers, glorious mountains ripe for the climbing, and coasts that inspire even the faintest of imaginations.
For some reason, perhaps because you want to keep them all to yourself, many of your brightest and most talented are hidden from the international mainstream.
There are so many artists and authors that I’d had no idea about until I moved to Canada and was encouraged to ‘#ReadtheNorth’.
The Read the North campaign is Indigo’s celebration of Canadian writers and their works. This is more than a shout-out to Canada’s 150th year, but Indigo has been a Canadian company since its very start. Want a history lesson? Click here.
So, to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, Indigo has released a coffee table book, The World Needs More Canada. It’s filled with photography, stories, and insights from 100+ notable Canadian celebrities, politicians, musicians, and artists.
—Want to win a copy? Keep reading—
No matter if you’re planning a ,road trip across Canada [books for that], want to read Indigo’s pick for the top 10 Canadian books [right here], or want to see the best kids’ books by Canadian authors [here you go], Indigo.ca has got what you need.
Disclaimer: Thank you to the lovely people at Indigo for supporting this blog and to giving me a copy of The World Needs More Canada to give away to my awesome readers.
Oh, before I forget, have you heard about the ‘Indigo Love of Reading Foundation’? It is dedicated to sharing books with Canadian children. Since 2004, the Foundation has committed $25 million in funding to more than 3,000 high-needs elementary school libraries, inspiring over 900,000 children. – Feeling inspired? Learn more here.
